Fangyi Zhang, M.D., is a neurosurgeon at Harborview Medical Center specializing in spine and spinal cord surgery. Dr. Zhang is also a UW associate professor of both Neurological Surgery and Orthopedics and Sports Medicine, and an adjunct associate professor of Global Health.
Dr. Zhang completed his residency training at the UW. Prior to coming to the US, he was a neurosurgeon at the Beijing Tiantan Hospital in China.
Dr. Zhang’s clinical interests include disorders and trauma of the spine. His research interests include the outcomes study of spine surgery, spinal cord blood flow regulation and acute spinal cord injury. He has published more than 40 articles in peer-reviewed scientific journals.
