Estella Whimbey, M.D., is a board certified physician at the UW Medicine’s Infectious Diseases & Tropical Medicine Clinic and associate medical director of UW Medical Center, medical director of Infection Control and medical director of the Employee Health Center. She is also a UW associate professor of Medicine and Allergy and Infectious Diseases.
Dr. Whimbey enjoys caring for patients over time and partnering with them to ensure their optimal health and well being.
Dr. Whimbey earned her M.D. from Cornell. Dr. Whimbey is a fellow of the American College of Physicians and a member of the Infectious Disease Society of America. She conducts clinical research relating to infections in immunocompromised patients, prevention of healthcare-associated infections among patients as well as healthcare workers and systematic improvements in healthcare quality and employee safety.
In her free time Dr. Whimbey enjoys spending time with family and friends and traveling.
