Dr. Poorman is a board certified internal medicine physician. She completed her residency at Cambridge Health Alliance in Massachusetts and her MD and MPH at Emory School of Medicine in Atlanta. Prior to medical school she studied history at Harvard College.
She is fluent in Spanish and Portuguese and is passionate about immigrant health care, as well as addiction medicine. She believes in using evidence based medicine to help patients choose the best treatment for them, while minimizing harm and living healthier lives.
Dr. Poorman writes about advancements in medical research. She enjoys hiking, camping, and live music.
