Eissa Hanna, M.D., is a board certified physician at the Eye Institute at Harborview and a UW associate professor of Ophthalmology and and adjunct associate professor of Neurological Surgery.
As a comprehensive ophthalmologist, Dr. Hanna treats a wide variety of conditions that affect the eye and eyelids. In every patient he sees a family member requiring his best and most compassionate care. He always starts with a careful ear and continues with an open mind. He also holds weekly lectures for UW Ophthalmology residents.
Dr. Hanna earned his M.D. at UC Davis. His clinical and research interests include ocular trauma, standard and complicated cataracts, macular degeneration, glaucoma, diabetic retinal disease, ocular surface disease, eyelid disorders and ophthalmic pathology, patient education and electronic media in medicine and medical education.
Dr. Hanna loves all things digital (computers, digital media, digital devices, etc.). However, he does not need much convincing to enjoy nature, the theater, a good movie or book. Family and friends make his time out of the office all the worthwhile.
