About Edward Kim
Edward Kim, MD is an Associate Professor of Neurology and a board-certified neurologist who specializes in Multiple Sclerosis and Neuroimmunology. He also serves as an Associate Program Director for the University of Washington Neurology Residency training program.
Dr. Kim believes in a collaborative approach to patient care. Modern health care needs to be a team sport, and that team includes an empowered patient working in coordination with every single member of our clinical care team. Dr. Kim is also dedicated to education and served as the neurology residency program director at Oregon Health & Science University for a decade before joining the team at UW, where he now also serves as an associate residency program director. His primary goal is to empower each patient with the most up-to-date information so that they can make their best-informed decisions about their own next steps in their diagnostic and treatment journey.
While Dr. Kim has broad training in general outpatient neurology and inpatient neurologic care, his clinical expertise includes a focus and dedication to the care of people with immune-mediated disorders of the central nervous system. While MS is the most commonly encountered of these conditions, it includes a broad range of conditions like neuromyelitis optica, sarcoidosis, and autoimmune encephalitis.
Personal Interests
Dr. Kim is an avid runner and skier, but he will happily join in any sport that involves chasing a ball. Most of the time, he can be found drinking coffee or exploring the Pacific Northwest with his wife, kids, and pup. He particularly loves sharing his enthusiasm for sports and music with his children.
