Edward F. Gibbons, M.D., is section chief of cardiology, director of the Heart Failure Program and co-director of Medical Cardiac Intensive Care Unit at Harborview. He is also a UW associate professor of medicine. Dr. Gibbons has been named a "Seattle Best Doctor" and listed in "Best Doctors in America."

Dr. Gibbons strives to create active partnerships with his patients to achieve the best possible outcomes.

Dr. Gibbons earned his M.D. from the University of Chicago. His is triple board certified in Echocardiography, Cardiovascular Disease, and General Internal Medicine.  He received UW's Paul B. Beeson Teaching Award, and his team won a Qualis Health Award of Excellence. His clinical interests include outcomes research in underserved populations. His research interests include plaque imaging in cardiovascular risk assessment, informatics in cardiovascular care delivery and community heart failure care integration.

When he's away from medicine, Dr. Gibbons enjoys listening to early music, cooking and cycling.
