Biography

Douglas Stewart, M.D., is a board certified physician at the Cardiology Clinic at Harborview, director of the Cardiovascular Disease Fellowship Program and a UW professor emeritus of Cardiology.

Dr. Stewart specializes in percutaneous coronary intervention, especially of complex coronary disease, hypertrophic cardiomyopathy and percutaneous treatment of valvular heart disease. He believes good communication between doctor and patient results in good patient care.

Dr. Stewart earned his M.D. at Harvard. He is triple board certified in Interventional Cardiology, Cardiovascular Disease and Internal Medicine. His clinical interests include complex coronary artery disease, hypertrophic cardiomyopathy and valvular heart disease. His research interests include physiologic measurement of coronary stenosis and outcomes of percutaneous coronary intervention and coronary bypass surgery.

Personal Interests

In his spare time, Dr. Stewart enjoys sailing, biking and reading.
