About Desiree A. Marshall

Desiree A. Marshall, M.D., is a board certified pathologist for UW Medicine's Autopsy and Neuropathology Services. She is medical director of UW Autopsy and After Death Services and a UW acting assistant professor of Pathology.

As a clinician-educator, trainee teaching is a major emphasis for Dr. Marshall. Her clinical practice includes adult autopsy with an emphasis in forensic and neurodegenerative neuropathology.

Dr. Marshall earned her M.D. from Texas Tech University. She directs the Forensic Neuropathology Conference at the King County Medical Examiner's Office. She holds triple diplomate status by the American Board of Pathology.

Dr. Marshall’s research interests include neurodegeneration, neuropathology of Traumatic Brain Injury and Chronic Traumatic Encephalopathy, neuropathology of pediatric non-accidental trauma and rapid autopsy. Read more about Dr. Marshall
