About David A. Watkins
David Watkins, M.D., is a board certified physician in the Hospital Medicine Program at Harborview Medical Center and a UW assistant professor of General Internal Medicine.
Dr. Watkins loves talking to people from every walk of life and hearing their stories. What he enjoys most about caring for patients at Harborview is being able to take the time to listen and to meet peoples’ health needs. He also enjoys the intellectual challenge of providing care for complex medical conditions and striving above all to put patient preferences and values at the center of the health care encounter.
Dr. Watkins earned his M.D. from Duke. He is a member of the American College of Physicians. His clinical and research interests include general internal medicine and strengthening health systems to provide better care for cardiovascular and metabolic diseases in low- and middle-income countries.
Personal Interests
In his free time Dr. Watkins enjoys yoga, hiking, cooking and traveling.
