David S. Shin, MD, is a UW Assistant Professor of Radiology in the Vascular and Interventional Radiology Section.
Dr. Shin earned his Bachelor of Science and Doctor of Medicine degrees at Stanford University. He completed his Diagnostic Radiology residency and Vascular and Interventional Radiology fellowship at the University of Washington. He joined the UW faculty in 2017.
Dr. Shin is board certified by the American Board of Radiology and is a Diplomat in Interventional Radiology/Diagnostic Radiology. He is an active member of the Society of Interventional Radiology (SIR), Cardiovascular and Interventional Radiological Society of Europe (CIRSE), and Western Angiographic & Interventional Society (WAIS).
Dr. Shin takes pride in using minimally invasive, cutting-edge technology to perform safe and effective procedures for patients with various medical conditions. He is an expert in portal hypertension management, deep vein thrombosis treatment, and liver cancer therapy.
Dr. Shin specializes in comprehensive care of acute and chronic venous occlusive diseases using the latest advanced endovascular technologies. He is highly experienced in complex deep venous thrombectomy, recanalization, and stent reconstruction procedures and has a track record of successfully treating patients with challenging venous conditions referred from across the United States.
