David B. Coppel, Ph.D., is the Director of Neuropsychological Services and Research for the Sports Concussion Program, a joint effort of UW Medicine, Harborview Medical Center and Seattle Children’s Hospital.
Dr. Coppel is a clinical psychologist, clinical neuropsychologist and sport psychologist. He is focused on helping individuals improve their performance, adjustment and sense of efficacy in their lives. His clinical interests include sports concussion; neuropsychological and neurocognitive evaluations; sport and performance psychological consultations; and cognitive-behavioral therapy.
Dr. Coppel is a Professor in the Department of Neurological Surgery at the University of Washington, Seattle.
When working with patients, Dr. Coppel believes the more awareness they have about how their thoughts, emotions and behaviors are interconnected, the greater their ability to influence the outcomes in their lives.
Personal InterestsIn addition to working with patients, Dr. Coppel enjoys time with family, reading, sports and travel.
