About David J. Carlbom
David Carlbom, M.D. is a board certified physician working in all adult Intensive Care Units at Harborview and a UW Associate Professor of Pulmonary, Critical Care and Sleep Medicine. He is world-recognized for his expertise in sepsis care & education.
Dr. Carlbom believes in access to excellence for all patients, especially the underserved and mission patients of Harborview. He enjoys teaching students at all levels, including paramedics, medical students, residents and fellows.
Dr. Carlbom earned his M.D. at the UW. He is triple board certified in General Internal Medicine, Pulmonary Disease and Critical Care Medicine. His clinical and research interests include sepsis, non-invasive monitoring of resuscitation, prehospital critical care and poly-specialty critical care.
