Christopher Allen Sanford MD, MPH, DTM&H is a board-certified family medicine physician with interests in travelers’ health, public health, and tropical medicine. He sees both family medicine and travel patients at the UW Neighborhood Northgate Clinic. He is an associate professor of family medicine and global health, and directs the UW Dept. of Family Medicine Global Health Fellowship.
Dr. Sanford's research projects include a study on the effect of antimalarials on the risk of travelers' diarrhea and an evaluation of "knowledge gaps" within the field of travel medicine. His other research interests include the teaching of medicine in low-resource settings, and health risks, including motor vehicle accidents, of urban centers in the developing world.
