Dr. Palmer is very astute, observant, compassionate, and Is kind in her feedback. She homes in on key issues or responses and inquires in respectful ways to dig deeper into the skill, resource or methodology for deeper understanding, clarification, or guidance towards resolution whether at a skill set, mindset, or emotional level for 'peace of mind'. Dr. Palmer's experience, Insights and ability to resonate with neurodiversity helps promote my own discovery of how to strengthen, improve and change my behavior in response to triggers or frustrations in attempting to navigate in a neurotypical world. Dr. Palmer facilitates a feeling of acceptance and understanding that helps to create a sense of safe space in contrast to dominant culture which is predominantly hostile and rejects difference. This promotes the ability to explore, accept one's own unique patterns of learning and being in the world versus constantly having to react to a universe of dominant, almost constant bullying by neurotypical culture and behaviors. Having autism is like being tone death in a hearing world and having to sing for your supper while never knowing you're off key. The choir daily mocks and rebukes in so many ways. So, it's refreshing and surprising to encounter and receive support and guidance from a strong ethical professional who possess an comprehensive and therapeutic knowledge bank, yet imparts gentle ways of counsel and promotes change with a rare intuition of mindful insights and expertise in and of ASD.
