About Charles Liu
Charles Liu, MD, MS is a surgeon who specializes in diseases of the colon, rectum, and anus. He is passionate about helping patients and their families understand their diagnosis, the treatment options, and the care process. Dealing with a new diagnosis can be overwhelming. Dr. Liu believes it's his job to listen and clearly explain the evidence and tradeoffs to help patients choose the right option. Diseases of the colon, rectum, and anus are topics most people don’t think or talk much about, so Dr. Liu strives to create an environment where patients and families feel comfortable asking questions and can leave the visit feeling equipped with more knowledge. He is also an Assistant Professor, Division of General Surgery, Department of Surgery at the University of Washington.

In his free time, Dr. Liu enjoys hiking, watching sports (especially soccer), and exploring new neighborhoods in Seattle.
