Biography

Carolyn M. Gardella M.D., M.P.H. is the gynecology service chief at VA Puget Sound and a UW professor of obstetrics and gynecology. She is an expert in infectious diseases in obstetrics and gynecology.

Dr. Gardella earned her bachelor's degree from Dartmouth College and her M.D. from State University of New York, Stony Brook. She completed her residency in obstetrics and gynecology and fellowship in reproductive infectious diseases at UW. She earned her M.P.H. in epidemiology at UW School of Public Health.

Dr. Gardella's clinical interests include reproductive infectious diseases, resident training, minimally invasive surgery and complex gynecologic consults.  She is committed to providing exceptional, evidence-based, efficient care to her patients within the context of their values and needs. She considers it a privilege to care for the women who have served our country. 

Personal Interests

Dr. Gardella enjoys hiking, skiing, volunteering in my community and spending time with my family.
