About Carol vanHaelst
Carol vanHaelst, M.D., is a board certified hematologist and medical oncologist at SCCA at EvergreenHealth and a UW assistant professor of Medicine and Oncology. She has been named a Seattle Magazine Top Doctor.
A diagnosis of cancer presents each patient with complex decisions. Dr. vanHaelst feels very privileged to be able to help guide and inform patients. She values the importance of minimizing the long-term impact of therapy on patients' well-being.
Dr. vanHaelst earned her M.D. at the Catholic University of Louvain in Belgium. She is triple board certified in Medical Oncology, Hematology and Internal Medicine by the American Board of Internal Medicine. She has special interest in treating women with breast cancer. She also cares for patients with benign and malignant blood disorders, gynecologic and gastrointestinal cancers.
