About Carlos M. Delgado Upegui

Carlos Delgado Upegui, M.D., is an anesthesiologist at UW Medical Center and a UW assistant professor of Anesthesiology and Pain Medicine.

Dr. Upegui feels the management of high-risk patients, both in the general OR and in labor and delivery, is extremely exciting. He enjoys being able to provide thorough care during their contact with the surgical services.

Dr. Upegui earned his medical degree from Universidad CES in Medellin, Colombia. He completed a certificate program in patient safety and quality from the School of Medicine at the UW in 2014. His clinical and research interests include obstetric anesthesia, labor pain relief, high-risk pregnancies, simulation in medical training and clinical outcomes and modes of delivery of labor analgesia.

Personal Interests

In his free time Dr. Upegui enjoys learning languages, exploring the city and its surroundings and trying new foods.
