Biography

Brandon Backlund, M.D., is a board certified physician in the Emergency Department at Harborview, a UW assistant professor of Emergency Medicine and associate director of Emergency Ultrasound.

Dr. Backlund evaluates and treats patients to diagnose and stabilize life-threatening conditions. He believes that every individual's health is their own responsibility, and it is the physician's job to advise and assist them in restoring, maintaining or improving their health. He believes that patients have much better outcomes when they are engaged and motivated to participate in their care.

Dr. Backlund earned his medical degree from the University of Iowa. He is a fellow of the American College of Emergency Physicians. His clinical and research interests include emergency bedside ultrasound, resident education in emergency medicine, emergency airway management and wildnerness medicine.

Personal Interests
