Aaron Cheng, M.D., is a board-certified surgeon at UW Medicine. He is surgical co-director of Cardiothoracic Intensive Care and a UW assistant professor of Surgery.
Dr. Chen cares for patients who are often acutely critically ill and face challenging medical decisions. He finds personal satisfaction in working alongside them and their families to understand their choices and improve their well-being and health in a manner that is respectful and meaningful to them as individuals.
Dr. Cheng earned his M.D. from Harvard Medical School. He is a fellow of the American College of Surgeons and is board certified in general surgery, thoracic surgery and surgical critical care. He is actively involved with the Society of Thoracic Surgery.
Dr. Cheng's clinical interests include general thoracic surgery and surgical critical care. His research interests include health outcomes and quality improvement in critical care.
In his free time Dr. Cheng enjoys fly fishing and skiing.
