A unique element of the UW Medical Center – Northwest therapies program is our Easy Street Environment. Easy Street is a life-sized replica of a city street that is used to assist patients in their recoveries.
Easy Street provides a realistic setting where patients can practice the functional skills that are necessary to re-enter their community. Easy Street includes a grocery store, restaurant, bank, laundromat, bus stop, movie theater and house with a kitchen, dining room, bedroom and car in the garage. A physical therapy gym and occupational therapy center are also conveniently located on Easy Street.
As the only facility of its kind in the region, Easy Street provides a realistic, safe and non-threatening environment where patients can practice the skills needed to return to independent living.
