About Marta Alhama-Belotto
Marta Alhama-Belotto, MD, is a cardiologist with fellowship training in integrative medicine. She has a clinical interest in cardio-oncology, coronary artery disease, heart failure, valvular heart disease, and cardiovascular prevention. Dr. Alhama-Belotto performs stress tests, transesophageal echocardiograms, cardioversions, and transthoracic echocardiograms.
Dr. Alhama-Belotto believes in the benefits of comprehensive evaluations to ensure she has a complete understanding of a patient’s health problems. She focuses not only on test results, but also on psychosocial and cultural factors that may determine a person’s health status and compliance with physician recommendations. She practices state-of-the-art, evidence-based medicine, and also knows a healthy lifestyle is a very powerful way to achieve well-being.
In addition to her clinical practice, Dr. Alhama-Belotto conducts research on the development of non-invasive tools to assess cardiomyopathy. Her previous research has focused primarily on the use of echocardiography to better understand the pathophysiology of different cardiac diseases and the development of echocardiography-based parameters to screen for early signs of heart failure.
Personal Interests
When not caring for her patients, Dr. Alhama-Belotto loves spending time in nature, participating in outdoor activities and hiking with her husband and children.
