Volunteer Voice, October / November 2013

​In the October/November issue of Volunteer Voice, we introduce you to the Directors of the Service League Board, a group of diverse and dedicated volunteers who bring a wealth of experience to their important work at ​the medical center. We also share the success stories of two former UWMC volunteers. Kristen Killian is now a Registered Nurse in the ICU, and Matt Schultz is a Medical Assistant in the Emergency Department who just started medical school at UW. We hope that their stories will inspire you!

In the August issue of Volunteer Voice, we celebrate the 2013 Summer Teen Program! Our teen volunteers have been working hard this summer, delivering service excellence to patients and visitors at UWMC. We also talk to Art Therapist Zandi Salstrom, who explains how the creative process helps our patients and families work through emotional and mental challenges. You will also find stories about recent events--coffee taste testing, a Pen Pal party, and a recent medical center exhibition by UW art students.
