Foot and Ankle Center

Our Care Team

Physicians and clinic staff evaluate and treat conditions that affect the foot, ankle and lower leg. Our team approach helps to ensure that we address patients' needs.

  • Attending physicians, our team leaders, are orthopaedic surgeons who specialize in foot and ankle problems. They teach at the University of Washington School of Medicine and undertake research to improve medical understanding of this anatomic region. Meet our current providers.
  • Dr. Sigvard Hansen Jr., our institute’s founder, is recognized internationally for advancing the standard of care for foot and ankle surgery.
  • ACE (advanced clinical experience) fellows are doctors receiving advanced training in foot and ankle surgery. These physicians will take this specialized knowledge to hospitals around the world as they pursue roles as researchers, teachers and surgeons.
  • Clinic staff includes registered nurses, medical assistants, orthopaedic technicians, physical therapists, social workers and vocational counselors. With keen awareness of foot and ankle conditions and the healing process, they provide specialized care and prepare patients for postoperative exercise and rehabilitation.
  • Patient care coordinators schedule office visits, surgeries and additional studies recommended by your physician.
