Prenatal Genetic Testing

Prenatal genetic testing is a way to learn more about your baby’s health before the baby is born.  At UW Medicine, we encourage you to learn about these options and ask questions to help you make a decision.  Your health care provider will talk with you about such tests.  As early as the first prenatal visit, you will be asked whether or not you would like prenatal genetic testing and if yes, which type of test you prefer.  It is your choice to have any of these tests and our prenatal genetic testing presentation is to help inform you of your choices.
