​​​​​The Intake and Brief Intervention Services (IBIS) Clinic at Harborview provides assessment, triage, referral, and brief intervention services for adult individuals seeking assistance with mental health issues.  IBIS is one of the many programs offered by the Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Health Services.  Referrals to IBIS come from King County Crisis Clinic (IBIS is part of the King County network of crisis providers for adults), Harborview clinics, UW Contact Center, UWPN clinics, or other UW Medicine entities. 

Once the initial mental health assessment is complete, further psychiatric evaluation may be scheduled or referral and linkage to community resources is facilitated. Note, children will be referred to other community resources.

Short-term treatment services, when appropriate, may include psychiatric evaluation, prescription of medication, medication monitoring, and case management.  Clinic staff includes board-certified psychiatrists, psychiatric residents, psychiatric nurse practitioners, and master’s level mental health professionals.
