Please carefully review the Requirements section of this page before completing an application. Remember that volunteers must commit to six months of consecutive service, and placement in a certain department is not guaranteed. Please check our opportunities page, or email email@example.com to inquire about specific department availability before you apply. In order for your application to be accepted and reviewed, the following must be submitted.
The Online Volunteer Application Make sure to fill out all necessary fields. Incomplete applications will not be considered.
The Online Professional Reference Form. This reference form must be completed by someone who is familiar with your professional skills, such as a teacher, supervisor, co-worker, or anyone else who knows you on a professional basis. The person completing this form may not be a family member. Please send your chosen reference the Online Professional Reference Form found at the link above. Your online application will not be reviewed until your reference has submitted the form. Volunteer Services may contact this person for more information.
NOTE: If we have not received BOTH online forms within one month of each other, your application or reference will be discarded. Please call us at 206.744.3547 or email firstname.lastname@example.org to inquire about the status of your application if you have not received an email from us.
Step 2: Screening
Once we have matched your online reference form with your submitted online application you will be contacted via email. Please allow three weeks between the time of submission and contact. If your application is selected we will schedule you for an interview. After the interview, you will be informed if you are accepted into the program.
Step 3: Placement
Volunteers are required to attend a general volunteer services orientation. A mandatory tuberculosis screening will be available free of charge at orientation. After orientation your background check will be run and potential placement options will be discussed.
