Eary, Janet F.

Janet F Eary, M.D.

Dr. Eary is a UW professor of radiology/nuclear medicine with joint appointments in the orthopaedics and pathology departments. Her clinical and research interests are focused on cancer imaging and therapy, with special expertise in molecular imaging.

Patient Care Philosophy
She believes that imaging specialists are excellent physicians who actively participate in care for an individual whether in the clinic or the research setting.

Scope Of Care
Nuclear medicine diagnosis and therapy procedures, ranging from standard practice to advanced procedures which include PET, high dose therapy with radionuclides, and some of the more rarely practiced uses of radioisotopes in therapy.

Personal Interests
Learning about new imaging techniques, molecular biology, and bioengineering and general science. I also enjoy teaching, especially aspects of molecular medicine in diagnosis and therapy. I spend my free time playing music, bicycling, gardening and sewing.

Clinical Interests
Diagnosis using radioactive imaging agents and therapy using radioactive therapy agents. She has a special interest in cancer imaging, clinical cancer imaging research and experimental therapies.

Research Interests
Cancer imaging from basic research to clinical studies. In particular, she investigates PET imaging in cancer using standard and new imaging agents to understand more about cancer and its response to therapy.

Teaching Interests
All aspects of molecular imaging, including clinical nuclear medicine, therapy methods, PET imaging, dosimetry, correlative imaging, clinico-pathologic correlation and molecular medicine.
