Dermot Richard Fitzgibbon, M.B.B.Ch.
Dr. Fitzgibbon is a UW professor of anesthesiology and pain medicine. His interests include perioperative pain management, cancer pain management and anesthesiology with a special interest in regional anesthesia.
Pain management in cancer patients should be patient focused. It is important for patients to understand why they are experiencing pain as not all pain is caused by cancer. Successful pain management requires a team approach between all who are involved in care and requires a long-term commitment to care. Most importantly, this must include the patient.
Acute pain management, cancer pain management and regional anesthesia.
