Joe Stuckey, M.S., C.R.C.

Joe Stuckey is a nationally certified Rehabilitation Counselor with over 15 years of clinical experience at the University of Washington Medical Center. He provides comprehensive Rehabilitation Counseling services throughout the UW Medicine system including the Department of Rehabilitation Medicine, Neurology, Headache Clinic, Center for Pain Relief, and Multiple Sclerosis Center.

Clinical Interests
As a Rehabilitation Counselor, Joe assists individuals and their families with employment, education, activity planning, advocacy, adjustment to disability and complex pain management needs.

• Assessment services evaluate the strengths, functional limitations and goals of each patient based on the individual’s medical, physical, psychological and cognitive status.
• Treatment services assist patients and healthcare providers with educational and employment planning. Job retention is maximized through development of ADA based job accommodations and identification of community employment supports. When appropriate, assistance with transition of out of the workforce and disability benefit planning is provided. Joe also serves as a community consultant working with employers throughout the northwest on disability rights and employment supports.
• Therapeutic counseling support is provided to modify the psychological, behavioral, cognitive, and social factors affecting the patient's well-being. Behavioral health services include adjustment to disability counseling and cognitive-behaviorally based pain management.
