Dr. Horvath is a professor of surgery and director of the Residency Training Program in general surgery. She joined the University of Washington School of Medicine faculty in 1998.
No matter what our backgrounds are, we are all equal when it comes to getting sick, going through treatment, and hoping for a good prognosis. A positive outlook, along with family and community support, greatly affects how a patient handles the challenges of illness and how quickly they recovery.
