Todd R. Klesert, M.D., Ph.D.
Dr. Klesert is an acting assistant professor in the Department of Ophthalmology. He is a clinician educator. His primary clinical interest is vitreoretinal disease and surgery. He also cares for patients with intraocular tumors.
Dr. Klesert’s goal is to provide state-of-the-art medical and surgical care of the eye, based on our best current medical evidence, with a foundation of compassion and effective patient communication.
Dr. Klesert provides care through medical treatments, in-office procedures, and surgery.
In his free time Dr. Klesert enjoys photography, alpine mountaineering, skiing, and playing the piano.
Age-related macular degeneration; retinal detachment; diabetic retinopathy; macular pucker; macular hole; melanoma; lymphoma; and retinitis pigmentosa.
Retinal stem cell therapy; retinal imaging; and tumor diagnostics.
Dr. Klesert spends significant time educating residents, fellows and medical students about retinal disease and surgery.
