Patient Care Philosophy
My greatest passion is for rehabilitating injured athletes. Whether they’re varsity stars or weekend warriors, I love helping athletes return to the sports they enjoy, and develop the conditioning necessary to avoid future injury. There is nothing as rewarding as helping a patient resolve their pain and return to the activities that they love. I have been fortunate to have worked at this location since 1999, and have seen my patients grow up – from junior high school athlete to being drafted into professional sports. What a journey!
I love to cook (and eat); we put in an outdoor pizza oven a few years ago which has sparked a lot of wood burning oven meals. I have four wonderful children who are now young adults and I am slowly transitioning into being an empty nester. That does give me more time to garden, boat in the summer and hit the slopes when there’s fresh powder in the winter. After a wonderful international PT conference in Italy, my travel bug has been reawakened; and I can’t wait to book our next trip. Machu Picchu, southern Italy, and Turkey are all on my "bucket list."
Some of my special interests include foot and ankle injuries, especially those related to running. I use diagnostic tools such as video gait analysis to correct gait patterns and make high-level activity safer for my patients. Additionally, I have extensive experience treating various maladies of the shoulder, elbow and hand, returning rock climbers and pitchers to their respective sports. I love treating the whole patient and all of their orthopedic problems; teaching the inter-relationship of joint mechanics and returning them to activities they love.
