Dr. Kohler is a UW professor of surgery whose clinical interest is in general vascular surgery. His scope of care includes arterial and venous diseases of the peripheral circulation and dialysis access procedures.

Personal Interests

He enjoys the many fine arts programs in the Seattle area.

Clinical Interests

He helped begin the endovascular treatment of aortic aneurysms in the Pacific Northwest in collaboration with Dr. David Glickerman. He continues to promote less invasive treatment of peripheral vascular disease and improved care of patients requiring dialysis access.

Teaching Interests

He participates daily in the instruction of medical students, residents and fellows in vascular surgery. He gives the peripheral vascular disease lecture to the second-year medical students during their cardiovascular course.

Research Interests

Clinical trials involving endovascular care of aneurysms and new methods for dialysis access and basic research in arterial injury and repair. He has also helped develop noninvasive ultrasound techniques for diagnosis of peripheral and renal artery occlusive disease.
