About Somnath Mookherjee
Somnath Mookherjee, M.D., is a board certified physician at UW Medical Center and a UW assistant professor of General Internal Medicine. He directs the Faculty Development Program for the UW General Internal Medicine.
Dr. Mookherjee is interested in understanding patients' perspectives on their medical problems and treatment. He strives to thoughtfully integrate that information to make nuanced recommendations.
Dr. Mookherjee earned his M.D. at the UW. His scholarly work focuses on optimizing clinical teaching. He has published research on peer feedback of teaching, physical examination education and education in quality improvement and patient safety. He is co-editor of the Handbook of Clinical Teaching and the The Perioperative Medicine Consult Handbook. He is also a co-author of a manual on Writing Case Reports: A Practical Guide from Conception through Publication. He is a deputy editor for the Journal of Hospital Medicine.
Personal Interests
In his free time Dr. Mookherjee enjoys traveling and spending time with his family.
