Patient Care Philosophy

Compassion and individual attention are critical in providing patients with highest standards of comprehensive eye care. Dr. Ross believes in giving patients a thorough explanation and providing them with the tools to be proactive in their care. She feels fortunate to work with an outstanding team at the UW that synchronizes care to provide patients with a seamless experience.

Personal Interests

She is an outdoor enthusiast who enjoys snowskiing, running, hiking, mountain biking and spending time with her family.

Comprehensive annual eye care, annual dilated diabetic eye evaluations, pre- and postoperative care of cataract patients, evaluation, pre- and post-operative care of refractive surgery patients, and diagnosis and treatment of dry eye and computer vision syndrome patients.

Dr. Ross joined the University of Washington as a teaching associate in 2006. She received her optometric education at Pacific University College of Optometry in Forest Grove, Ore. Her clinical rotations included working at Hickam Air Force Base in Honolulu, Hawaii and Pacific Cataract and Laser Institute in Bellevue, WA. She completed additional post-doctoral training at Chicago Westside Veteran Medical Center, where she specialized in ocular disease and low vision rehabilitation.

Her scope of care includes comprehensive primary eye care which includes annual eye examinations, baseline dilated fundus exam for patients diagnosed with systemic diseases and evaluation, treatment or appropriate referrals for urgent eye problems. Dr. Ross has extensive experience in working closely with ophthalmologists in the management of LASIK and cataract patients.

Her teaching interests include comprehensive annual eye care, annual dilated diabetic eye evaluations, pre- and postoperative care of cataract patients, evaluation, pre- and post-operative care of refractive surgery patients, and diagnosis and treatment of dry eye and computer vision syndrome patients.

She also works with our refractive surgeons to provide consultations, comprehensive pre-operative eye exams for LASEK, PRK and cataract patients, post-operative follow-up and general eye exams for past refractive surgery patients. She is expert at contact lens fittings for spherical, toric and multi-focal soft and rigid gas-permeable contact lenses.

Dr. Ross has presented research at the American Academy of Optometry and Illinois College of Optometry. She is an active member of the Optometric Physicians of Washington, King County Optometric Society, American Optometric Association and the National Board of Examiners in Optometry.
