Clinical Interests

Facial esthetic surgery; facial plastic and reconstructive surgery; facial reanimation and rehabilitation of facial paralysis; skull base surgery (endoscopic transnasal, transorbital, transmaxillary and multiportal); craniofacial trauma surgery.

Research Interests

My primary research projects center on computer-aided surgical planning, devices to increase surgical safety and patient protection, and new minimally disruptive surgical approaches. I am also interested in facial reanimation, facial nerve regeneration, and outcomes in reconstructive surgery.

After his residency in otolaryngology-head and neck surgery at the University of Washington, Dr. Moe completed his subspecialty training at the University of Michigan, Bern (Switzerland) and Zurich (Switzerland). His first faculty position was at the University of Zurich, after which he joined the University of California, San Diego, to perform facial plastic and skull base surgery. He moved to the University of Washington in 2005, where he is currently a UW professor in the Department of Otolaryngology - Head & Neck Surgery and the Department of Neurological Surgery and chief of the Division of Facial Plastics and Reconstructive Surgery. Dr. Moe has a clinical practice at Harborview and the University of Washington Medical Center, and a research and development program in surgical science.
