She enjoys working with the diverse case load of orthopedic and sports related injuries. She also has a special interest in basketball and golf athletes as she played these sports growing up.

Katie graduated from Western Washington University in 2007 with her B.S. in Exercise and Sports Science with a focus in Pre-Physical Therapy. In 2013 she completed her A.S. to become a Physical Therapist Assistant from Whatcom Community College.

Katie is certified in IASTM through Functional Movement Techniques Rockblades as well as Kinesiotape I & II. She is also a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist through the National Strength and Conditioning Association and a Licensed Massage Practitioner. She enjoys combining these manual therapy and exercise prescription skills into individualized treatment plans in order to help people achieve their goals.

Patient Care Philosophy

I believe collaborative care is an integral part of the rehabilitation process. I also think it is important to develop professional relationships and strong lines of communication with other providers including physical therapists, doctors, medical staff, Athletic Trainers and coaches. I enjoy empowering patients by providing them with the tools and education they need in order to return to the lifestyle and recreational activities they love. This involves creating well-balance and individualized treatment plans that take into consideration each person’s unique needs.

Personal Interests

I am a native to the Pacific Northwest and enjoy being outdoors as much as possible. I also enjoy cooking, spending time with friends and family, walking my dog, and cheering on my favorite teams at local sporting events. Go Dawgs!
