About James S. Floyd

James Floyd, M.D., is a board certified physician at Harborview and a UW assistant professor of General Internal Medicine and an adjunct assistant professor of Epidemiology.

Dr. Floyd feels it is a privilege to care for patients at Harborview Medical Center. He strives to create active partnerships with his patients to achieve the best possible outcomes.

Dr. Floyd earned his M.D. from Duke. He later completed a T32 Fellowship in cardiovascular epidemiology at the University of Washington Cardiovascular Health Research Unit, where he works as an investigator on studies of the cardiovascular safety of various medications. He has expertise in cardiovascular epidemiology and drug safety. He serves as a member of the American Heart Association Council on Epidemiology and Prevention.

Personal Interests

In his free time Dr. Floyd enjoys Chopin, Stravisnky and Debussy.
