About F. Bruder Stapleton

F. Bruder Stapleton, M.D., is a board certified pediatrician, chief academic officer and senior vice president of Seattle Children's Hospital, associate dean of the UW School of Medicine and UW's Ford/Morgan Endowed Chair and chairman of Pediatrics.

Dr. Stapleton believes in personal, family-centered patient care that is based on the best available evidence.

Dr. Stapleton earned his M.D. from the University of Kansas. He is board certified in both Pediatrics and Pediatric Nephrology. He is past president of the American Pediatric Society and American Society of Pediatric Nephrology, serves on the American Board of Pediatrics, is the founding editor-in-chief of Journal Watch Pediatrics and Adolescent Medicine, published by the Massachusetts Medical Society and is co-editor-in-chief of UptoDate.com, an online resource for patients and providers. He has also served on the executive council of the American Pediatric Society.
