Dr. Konnick is an associate director of the Genetics and Solid Tumor Laboratory in the UW Department of Laboratory Medicine.

Dr. Konnick is responsible for the design, implementation and clinical evaluation of advanced laboratory methods to aid in the diagnosis and management of patients with a wide variety of diseases. His academic interests include the intersection of germline and somatic mutation testing in malignancy and the use of automation and software to reduce laboratory errors.

Dr. Konnick completed his residency in anatomic and clinical pathology and fellowship in molecular genetic pathology at the University of Washington.

He is board certified in molecular genetic pathology, clinical pathology and anatomic pathology by the American Board of Pathology.

Patient Care Philosophy

Laboratory test results and pathologic diagnoses have been estimated to drive greater than 2/3 of medical decision-making. The Department of Laboratory Medicine is dedicated to providing accurate and timely results to patients using expert medical knowledge and advanced techniques.

I am excited to use my medical training and technical expertise to bring cutting-edge diagnostic methods to the patients served by the University of Washington and the Seattle Cancer Care Alliance.
