About Edward J Novotny
Edward Novotny, M.D., is a pediatric epileptologist. Dr. Novotny’s clinical practice is based at Seattle Children's Hospital where he is the director of the epilepsy program. He has over 25 years of experience in caring for infants, children and adolescents with epilepsy and other neurological disorders. He is a professor in the Neurology and Pediatrics Departments at UW School of Medicine. He has been at the University of Washington since 2009 and holds the Alvord, Gerlich and Rhodes Family Endowed Chair in Pediatric Epilepsy. Recent awards include Seattle Magazine, Top Doctor 2019; Fellow, American Epilepsy Society 2017; Fellow, American Academy of Neurology, 2016.
Dr. Novotny trained in general pediatrics at the University of California, Davis. He also trained in pediatric neurology at Stanford University, California, where he also did a clinical neurophysiology and epilepsy fellowship. He did research fellowship training in advanced magnetic resonance imaging at Yale School of Medicine, New Haven, Connecticut.
