Dr. Fredricks is an attending physician in infectious diseases who provides consultation to medical providers and their patients. His practice is based at the Seattle Cancer Care Alliance and UW Medical Center. He is director of the Infectious Disease Fellowship Training Program where he oversees the clinical and research training of 25 fellows.

The application of molecular methods for the diagnosis of infectious diseases and novel pathogen discovery.

Scope of Care

Infections in cancer patients and recipients of hematopoietic cell transplants; diagnosis and treatment of fungal infections; and molecular diagnostics for bacterial and fungal infections.

Research Interests

Polymerase chain reaction (PCR) for the diagnosis of bacterial and fungal infections, experimental treatments for fungal infections, infections in cancer patients, the human microbiome and the condition bacterial vaginosis.
