David B. Coppel, Ph.D. is the director of neuropsychological services and Research at the University of Washington Sports Concussion Program, located at both Harborview Medical Center and Seattle Children’s Hospital, and a UW professor in the Department of Neurological Surgery.
Dr. Coppel's clinical interests include sports concussion; neuropsychological and neurocognitive evaluations; sport and performance psychological consultations; and cognitive-behavioral therapy.
Dr. Coppel fills multiple roles as a clinical psychologist, clinical neuropsychologist and sport psychologist. He is focused on helping individuals improve their performance, adjustment and sense of efficacy in their lives. The more awareness individuals have about how their thoughts, emotions and behaviors are interconnected, the greater their ability to influence the outcomes in their lives. These explorations are central to much of his work.
Dr. Coppel enjoys time with family, reading, sports and travel.
