Dr. Kirby is a board certified obstetrician/gynecologist and a fellowship-trained urogynecologist specializing in female pelvic medicine and reconstructive surgery. She is an expert in the evaluation and treatment of urinary incontinence, pelvic organ prolapse, fecal incontinence, pelvic pain, and sexual dysfunction. Dr. Kirby performs minimally invasive surgeries including robotic surgeries.

Dr. Kirby received her medical degree at the University of Washington School of Medicine. She completed residency in obstetrics and gynecology and fellowship in female pelvic medicine and reconstructive surgery at University California San Diego before returning to the University of Washington in 2014.

Dr. Kirby chose to become a urogynecologist because she believes that being a woman should not have to result in health problems that keep us from living our best lives. She is a fellow of the American College of Obstetrics and Gynecology and a member of the American Urogynecologic Society. 

Patient Care Philosophy

I work with my patients to find the treatments that work best for their lives and their goals, including exercises, lifestyle changes, medications, injections and surgeries. By collaborating with physicians in other specialties, nurses, and physical therapists, I provide the best care for women.

Personal Interests

Born and raised in Seattle, she enjoys being outside and being active. Her favorite activities include windsurfing, skiing, hiking and spending time with her family.

Clinical Interests

Treatment of urinary incontinence; pelvic organ prolapse; fecal incontinence; pelvic floor complications after childbirth; mesh complications; minimally invasive surgery including robotic surgery.  

Research Interests

Risk factors for prolapse and incontinence surgery; childbirth injuries and subsequent pelvic floor disorders; sacral neuromodulation; treatment for overactive bladder symptoms; the urinary microbiome.
