Dr. Kwan is an attending interventional radiologist at UW Medical Center, Harborview Medical Center and the Seattle Cancer Care Alliance, and a UW associate professor of radiology. She performs minimally invasive procedures using image-guidance, with a clinical focus in the treatment of liver cancer and uterine fibroids.

Dr. Kwan graduated summa cum laude with a B.S. from Yale University. She subsequently received her M.D. training from Stanford University, during which time she co-founded a student-run free clinic for the underserved. She completed residency training in diagnostic radiology followed by fellowship in vascular and interventional radiology at the University of California, San Francisco. While working as a faculty member at UW, she concurrently completed a M.S. at the UW School of Public Health.

Dr. Kwan has authored multiple peer-reviewed articles in the field of radiology. Her areas of research interest include healthcare utilization, comparative effectiveness, and patient-centered outcomes. She was a past scholar with the prestigious NIH-funded KL2 Multidisciplinary Clinical Research Program and in 2014 became  the first female interventional radiologist  to receive the  Gary Becker Young Investigator Award from the Society of Interventional Radiology Foundation. Dr. Kwan is actively involved in research and national leadership within the specialty of interventional radiology.

I work with this team and with my patients to create and carry out a tailored treatment plan. All patients are unique, and every plan should take into consideration the specifics of their disease and their personal values and preferences.
