Patient Care Philosophy

I find great satisfaction caring for children of all ages and interacting with families and assisting their physicians to provide comprehensive, effective and safe diagnostic imaging.

Personal Interests

Traveling, woodworking and gardening.

Clinical Interests

Clinical research focused on pediatric cardiac imaging. I also have interests in body imaging with an emphasis on MRI.

Research Interests

Congenital heart disease, MRI, CT, iron overload and muscular dystrophy.

Dr. Otto is director of pediatric radiology at Seattle Children's Hospital and an UW associate professor of radiology. He practices general pediatric radiology with interests in cardiac, body imaging and MRI.

Dr. Otto earned his bachelor's degree and M.D. from the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor, Michigan. After training at William Beaumont Hospital in Royal Oak, Michigan, he completed a residency in diagnostic radiology at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical School in Dallas, Texas, and a fellowship in pediatric radiology at Children's Hospital in Dallas.

He practiced pediatric and adult diagnostic radiology for 17 years in Tacoma, Washington, when he accepted a faculty position at Seattle Children's Hospital.

He is board certified in both diagnostic radiology and pediatric radiology.
