Louis J. Kim, M.D., is chief of the Neurological Surgery Service at Harborview Medical Center, Seattle. Dr. Kim is part of a select group of neurosurgeons across the U.S. fellowship-trained in both open vascular/skull base microsurgery and endovascular techniques for the treatment of cerebrovascular and spinal vascular diseases. He specializes exclusively in the treatment of cerebrovascular and spinal vascular lesions. He is board-certified in neurological surgery.
Dr. Kim’s clinical research relates to patient outcome measures and refinements of surgical and endovascular techniques in aneurysm, arteriovenous malformation, skull based tumor and cavernous malformation surgery. He is engaged in several prospective cerebrovascular clinical trials charged with improving neurosurgical care delivery and patient outcomes.
Dr. Kim is vice chairman and professor of Neurological Surgery at the University of Washington, Seattle. He is also director of the Associate Residency Program at Harborview Medical Center.
When away from practicing medicine, Dr. Kim enjoys spending time hiking, skiing, running, golfing and reading.
