Dr. Johnson is a UW assistant professor in the Department of Radiology, interventional radiology section. He is an expert in minimally invasive image-guided procedures. His research interests include minimally invasive treatments for liver cancer including ablation and catheter-based treatments. He also has a special interest in a procedure called prostate artery embolization to help men with symptoms from BPH (benign prostatic hyperplasia).

Dr. Johnson received his bachelor’s degree in biochemistry from the University of Washington. He went on to study pharmacy and earn a Pharm. D. from the UW before receiving his M.D. from New York Medical College. He returned to Seattle to do his radiology residency and interventional radiology fellowship at the UW.

I believe in creating a tailored approach to each patient’s needs. Together with each patient, we create a strategy to best address the patient’s needs in a minimally invasive fashion.
