Patient Care Philosophy

I believe in helping patients to be in charge of their care. I see the healing process as a partnership and value my patients' role in this partnership just as highly as mine. Another key value I hold is transparency. I believe that my patients deserve simple, clear, easy to understand explanations of their conditions and treatment options available to them. 

Personal Interests

Outside of the hospital, I enjoy hiking, traveling, and spending time with my wife Sapna and little girl Kavya.

Dr. Shivaram specialized in minimally invasive, image-guided treatments for vascular malformations, arterial and venous disorders, solid organ tumors, and a variety of other conditions.

Dr. Shivaram is an interventional radiologist specializing in minimally invasive treatments for both pediatric and adult patients. He is an assistant professor of radiology at the University of Washington Medical Center and practices at Seattle Children's Hospital and the University of Washington Medical Center.

Dr. Shivaram received his medical degree from Stanford University, where he was awarded a Howard Hughes Medical Institute research fellowship. Following medical school, he completed internship in general surgery at Swedish Medical Center in Seattle followed by residency in radiology at the University of Washington Medical Center. He then went to Yale-New Haven Hospital at the Yale School of Medicine, where he completed fellowship training in vascular and interventional radiology.
